About
Welcome to Atelier Restaurant, an exceptional culinary gem nestled in the heart of Chicago, specifically located at 4835 N Western Ave. As a proud contender in the New American dining scene, Atelier offers not just meals, but immersive dining experiences that tantalize the senses.
Atelier embraces creativity in every dish, as reflected in glowing reviews from customers who rave about their gastronomic adventures. One patron, Josh Moore, captured the spirit of Atelier perfectly: “Loved everything about our experience at Atelier! The food was incredibly creative, fresh, and bold.” Each dish, meticulously crafted, showcases seasonal ingredients combined with innovative techniques. The flavors are both surprising and memorable—like the Thanksgiving-inspired pasta highlighted by Vincent Dusina, featuring turkey confit, cranberry sauce, and stuffing crumbles.
But the experience doesn't stop at food. Guests are invited to participate in somm wine tastings, which have been praised for their expertly curated pairings. Josh Moore mentions how these pairings introduced him to wines he might have otherwise overlooked, enhancing the overall dining experience.
The intimate atmosphere of Atelier sets the stage for a special evening. The dining room inspires a sense of closeness and connection, which Greg G. speaks of fondly—“...fosters a sense of privileged access, placing you at the heart of the kitchen's creative process.” Being close to the action allows diners to appreciate not just the food but the artistry of its preparation.
Every visit shares a new menu, designed to intrigue and excite. For example, after a delightful miso soup that some diners experienced on its very first day, the staff went above and beyond to ensure satisfaction, showcasing their commitment to hospitality. Maggie noted how the team remade the soup upon feedback, demonstrating their dedication to perfecting each dish for their guests.
In a city brimming with dining options, Atelier Restaurant stands out for its combination of top-notch service, inventive cooking, and an intimate setting. Whether you are on a culinary journey or simply craving delicious food, Atelier offers an experience that is bound to stay with you long after the last bite. “ Loved everything about our experience at Atelier! The food was incredible creative, fresh, and bold. Somm wine tastings were perfect complements to the dishes and exposed me to wines I wouldnt normally try. Hospitality was top notch! ”
“ Amazing experience from Chef Hunter! There where many great surprises and it was a night and food journey to remember. Highly recommend this for a night of dining and entertainment within eating and drinking wine. ”
“ Great experience for a more local feeling tasting menu in Chicago. One of the more intimate dining rooms Ive experienced that produces food of this caliber. We were lucky enough to be seated directly next to the kitchen which was a treat to watch all the food prep. Food overall was excellent and loved the focus not just on seasonal ingredients but also matching the dishes to the time of year. For the end of November a thanksgiving pasta turkey confit, cranberry sauce, stuffing crumbles and a number of pickled items along with a few courses featuring venison. Look forward to returning and experiencing a different menu! ”
“ Nestled in Chicago, Atelier offers a truly unique culinary journey. The exceptionally skilled team provides impeccable service, while the intimate dining space fosters a sense of privileged access, placing you at the heart of the kitchens creative process. This is more than a meal its an immersive experience, and a resounding recommendation feels insufficient. ”
“ This is the first restaurant that Ive tried during my first trip to Chicago. It was beyond my expectations. The restaurant was located at an inconspicuous location. Who wouldve ever knew that there was a Michelin restaurant there. There was nothing to complain about the service. Our tasting menu consisted of a Miso Soup, which according to the kitchen is the first day they were serving it and we happened to be the first guests to taste it. It was waaay too salty and they did not hesitate to remake the soup for us it was perfect the second time around because of this they also gave us extra drinks on the house . The food was delicious each dish was very different and memorable and creative. The portion sizes were great! We were all so full by the time we finished all our courses. The server told us that the menu changes every 56 days so theres different dishes all the time. We did think all our dishes were Asian inspired so Im very excited to come back and try other dishes they have to present. ”
“ Absolutely AMAZING experience! I have never felt more at home somewhere than when we sat down for dinner. Our servers were so knowledgeable and so kind. And of course the food was outstanding. One of my favorite tasting menus. I just loved everything about it. I cant wait to come back again!! ”
“ Very kind and careful staff cared about our experience from the moment we booked all the way till we left feeling happy and fat. My beautiful bride and I enjoyed their tasting menu with obvious tweaks to her vegetarian diet. Everything was delicious, surprising, and fun. The NA drink pairings were wonderfully inspired and amazing. 1110. ”
“ Dined at 530 and was the first patron to enter. Was fun to be alone for a minute and then to see the room fill and the pace pick up. The space is small and comfortable. Not pretentious and staff are warm and friendly. I sat immediately next to the kitchen which is open to the dining area and was able to watch all of the dishes prepared, plated and delivered. A well orchestrated symphony with attention paid to every detail, as you might expect from a Michelin star. The menu changes very frequently based on what is fresh and available, mostly locally sourced. I did the reserve wine pairing which is more a traditional wine pairing than the regular which features more eclectic or off the map wines. For me this is the wineschampagne I prefer and it was well done. Each offering partnered well with the dish and I enjoyed all of them. The food was phenomenal. Every dish was interesting and delicious with excellent presentation. Ill be back next time my travels bring me to Chicago. Also the pricing I thought was very reasonable for the quality. Not saying they should increase the pricing but Id happily have paid more for a meal and service of this quality. ”
